The young actress Jamie Lynn Spears, sister of Britney Spears, gave birth to a baby girl yesterday morning, June 19, at a Mississippi hospital. The 17-year-old’s child weighed 7lb 11oz and was named Maddie Briann. It was a natural birth and the two are said to be doing well. Spears had her mother Lynne by her side during labour, as well as her fiance Casey Aldridge. Older sister Britney was nervously waiting outside. According to a source, only family members were present and the whole procedure ran very smoothly.

19-year-old Casey was allegedly nervous about holding his daughter as he was afraid he was going to drop her. Everyone who knows Jamie seems to be convinced she will make a great mother. One source said: “We’re so excited for her. She’ll be a great mom. She’ll be awesome. She was so excited about having this child. She was looking forward to it so much.”
Britney had flown in especially to be with her sister. Jamie Lynn had told the world she was going to become a mother last December. But despite the initial shock, we think everyone is very happy for her.

The hearing was closed and all documents were ordered sealed until a hearing later this month. A court spokeswoman says no rulings were made.

Spears’ attorney declined to comment after they concluded Friday. Mark Kaplan, an attorney representing Spears’ husband, Kevin Federline, attended the hearing via speakerphone.

Neither Spears nor Federline appeared.

Last month, a court commissioner granted Spears expanded visitation with her children. Federline took control of the toddlers after several highly publicized instances of erratic behavior by the 26-year-old singer.

britneyBritney Spears and Mel Gibson’s odd friendship has continued following their Costa Rican holiday last month — the odd couple was spotted chatting at an exclusive Beverly Hills cigar lounge on Tuesday night.

Spears and the movie star spent almost three hours talking at what appeared to be a business meeting at a members-only bar, called the Havana Club.

In a bid to avoid a paparazzi frenzy, both stars arrived separately as patrons were watching the Los Angeles Lakers/Boston Celtics basketball final on a big screen.

The bar has long been a favorite for smoking stars — Ben Affleck, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger have all been known to frequent the Havana.

When Spears left with a business associate and her bodyguard, Gibson stayed at the bar for a further hour, leaving at about 11 p.m., according to People.com.

Lily Allen steps out in LA with Lindsay Lohan LILY ALLEN is a very busy girl.

She’s supposed to be in LA finishing off her next album.

But the pink pop princess doesn’t mind mixing business with pleasure.

After dining out with LINDSAY LOHAN and her, er, partner SAMANTHA RONSON – it’s a strange one that – the day before, Lil made it into the studio for a few hours before taking a much-deserved break for lunch.

Later she took time out for a coffee break, a sightseeing drive in a soft-top Mini and flexed her credit card at a vintage clothes shop.

It’s a hard life.
